Miles Per Hour Clubs
You often hear phrases such as "it doesn't matter how hard you throw, it's where you throw it." Well, to some extent that is true but if you are interested in playing beyond high school then you will learn that "VELOCITY MATTERS."

Why? Because when college coaches and professional scouts evaluate pitchers their first criteria is usually VELOCITY. You can have the best command and best offspeed pitches there are but if you do not throw a certain speed then most college coaches will pass. Therefore, if a young pitcher has aspirations of pitching in college or beyond he should work on developing velocity early on. Besides, a pitcher's control will improve with repetition over a long period of time as long as he is using the proper mechanics.

Below is a list of The Baseball Barn's 80 and 90 MPH clubs. The 90 MPH Club consists of those that are currently members or have been members at one point. The 80 MPH Club consists of only current members. Typically, a pitcher that can throw in the 80s consistently has a good chance at playing in college. A pitcher that can throw in the 90s consistently has an excellent chance at pitching professionally. The velocity listed by each player suggests the highest radar reading they have been clocked.
